Jamie Petrie, also known as JPX, is a self-taught contemporary artist who has been in the creative industry for over four decades. He expresses himself through various mediums including painting, sculpture, directing music videos, short films, and animations. Now as a contemporary artist he strives to create works that represent an interpretation and visualisation of our physical world and the emotions we all endure. His subject matter depicts cityscapes, portraits, abstract and more.
Jamie’s artistic journey started in music, where he attained international success as a songwriter and music producer working with major music artists.
He uses a spiritual approach to create his art, the most notable of which is using several layers of oil colours followed by a scarring of the canvas. Jamie’s autobiographical narratives have always been an inspirational undertow.
To further enhance the experience of his art, Jamie composes original music as a soundscape for each piece. He also produces a one-of-a-kind 7-inch vinyl pressing and digital format MP3 to accompany each artwork.
Recently, he has begun animating his artworks to create a more immersive and contemporary experience.
